Resurrection

It seems like I've abandoned this blog for quite some time. This is due to my busy lifestyle after landing down on the 9th of December earlier last week. Lets start off when I was still in Australia where some of my housemates and I finished up a bottle of Black Label and my room turned into a mess. Cards and toilet papers were scattered everywhere. My clothes were hung on the ceiling lamp and I accidentally broke one of the two lamps when I was trying to take my jeans off from it.

I had to settle my new house's rent agreement before 6th of December where I had to travel to and flow to the city. I started to pack my things which took me quite some time before flying to Melbourne. While I was packing, I smiled foolishly flashing back at the past events happened to me. Overall, there were more ups than downs.

My room, just a few minutes before leaving.

My flight was 8.00 in the morning and I called the cab around 5.45. Reaching the airport, I checked the meter used and a total of AUD25++ was shown. This is the first time I'm traveling alone on an airplane, definitely a new experience for me. At around 7.30, an announcement was made about my flight that it will be delay to 9.00. I was feeling frustrated, sleepy and hungry at the same time, thus, I grab myself a Hungry Jack's meal.

Arriving at Melbourne, I was greeted by both of my grandparents and my uncle from my mother's side. Reaching their house, I was also greeted by Suki. It kept licking and smelling my feet once I step in the house's compound.

I slept in my baby cousin's room while he and my aunt was away in China. I was accompanied at night with Winnie the Pooh family and glowing stars.

After spending 3 days and 2 nights there stuffing my stomach with delicious food, I had to fly back to Malaysia with Air Asia. An 8 hours flight with small seating and uncomfortable chair leading to a almost 90 degrees backbone positing prove to be one of the toughest challenge for me.

Another thing is, Ive checked my results on the super slow internet connection speed with streamyx and I manage to pass all the subjects. From that point onwards, I knew that two third on my degree journey just ended and hopefully by next year, everything will go smoothly. Finally, a rest day for me today, after coming back to Malaysia. Not going out to anywhere today.

Finally

Sorry for the lack of updates. This is due to my busy schedule which occupies most of my time traveling in the bus or walking from places to places.

Lets start off with Saturday night, 28th of November. Went to Red Square from 11.30pm till around 5.30am. The atmosphere was over happening with so many people around which leads to so little space to move. Anyway, the nice songs only came around 2.30am and my mood quickly swings from negative to positive. Also, Ive spent a total of AUD95.00 for entrance fees (AUD15.00) and others on drinks. Met one of my FP and BIS classmate but only manage to talk to my BIS classmates for a short moment. Wanted to say "Hi" to my FP classmate but she was quite busy with her female friend. Overall was a tiring day..

Then the next day, I barely slept for 4 hours and I had to go out for a house inspection again.

On Monday, I went for two other house inspection which eats up half of the day.

Yesterday, I went for my final house inspection in Norwood around 10.30am and then I head back to the city to have sushi as lunch. Finally, some of my friends and I went to Kowloon Restaurant to celebrate Suzanne Siah's birthday. (Definitely recommend the butter chicken). After that, we went over to Glenelg to chill for a while before heading back home. Upon reaching home, I though I will be able to sleep but, some people barge into my room with a bottle of Jack Daniels and a bottle of wine. In the end, my room became like a mental ward and I broke one of the lamp. Luckily, I was able to control myself and I was almost at my limit because of the heavy dinner and ice-cream in Glenelg earlier. This made my stomach superbly full. We slept around 6.00am.

Today, I woke up around 8.30am to clean my room and do some stuffs. Then, I went over to uni to print some documents in order to rent a property and head to Gillies Street to hand in the documents. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the house.

This post took me 10 minutes which you can see that the style of words used were different from my previous posts. Will be updating after reaching Malaysia.

Semester 4 Down

A short update.

The moment one of the exam instructor said "All of you have to stop writing now unless you have an Entext indicator marked at your student ID, you have 30 minutes left", semester 4 in UniSA degree program ends for me on Tuesday night. This marks another step towards graduation at the end of next year if everything goes smoothly.

Overall, I knew I did quite O.K for this semester. For most of my housemates, this will be their end of UniSA degree program journey after 3 years, completing more than 50 assignments and sitting more than 20 papers.

I'm gonna eat more now because whenever I posted my pictures in my family blog, my mum keeps nagging me saying that I've got a lot thinner

Realize people here are actually very helpful.

Random

Caught this spring scenery coming back home after 2 papers. Took the direct bus, 232 home which was around 45 minutes.
Its at Fussell Pl, less than 1km from Buller Terrace. That day, the temperature marks 22 degrees at 10.30a.m., so, I was lucky enough to see them.

Alright, back to completing my Financial Planning cheat sheet.

Two

Done 2 subjects, BCB and DSM on Monday, 16th. BCB was really easy but DSM is making me headache. I went into the exam hall with full of confidence before DSM paper but, there was a downward slopping of my confidence level right when I looked at Section-B. The paper proved to be the toughest paper I've faced so far (I should have taken it in Malaysia) and I'm not sure I might pass this one through. This time, I did not race against time like all my previous papers cause I don't know what to write for most of the part.

2 more to go and I'm done with my fourth semester in UniSA degree program. Of course I promised myself to work harder by attending MOST of the lectures and tutorials.

4 hours ago it was topped at 42.6 degrees!!! Luckily, I was in Uni and I did not miss the train back home after that. Now, I can hear thunderstorm and strong wind blowing. This ain't spring at all...One thing good is next week, the weather forecast shows the best weather (if it does not rain).

Back to studies....

Chapter 28

For the past week, I've been traveling between Alberton and uni. I did that too for in my previous semester since entering into UniSA degree program. Noticed that uni these days seems to be packed with people compared to my previous semester, the week before exam commence. Also, you don't see anyone aged forty or above still studying in uni in Malaysia but we can see them here. I, myself definitely cannot do it upon reaching that age.

Why did I go to uni? First is because I felt that I could study better with less distraction compared to being at home and to escape the heatwave that struck Adelaide for the past 2 weeks. Even two of my housemates brought their pillow to stay overnight in the air-conditioned uni. For the past few days, I was sleeping with only my shorts. So, imagine the burning sensation here. I wonder why must it be in Adelaide? Other states such as Melbourne or Brisbane were not this bad.

Had stomach upset for the past few days. Probably because of the expired Coles marinated chicken. Till now, my stomach still feels like a mixer. Thankfully, I felt much better as days pass and hopefully, I will be completely cured by 16th November 2009.

3 more days to final exam, 12 more days to complete my fourth semester, 26 more days to fly back Malaysia. Which day must I look forward to? My first day of exam of course.

Chapter 27

With the temperature marking between 25 to 39 degrees here in Adelaide, I was perspiring from head to toe. Even Malaysia's temperature topped at 37 degrees (I think). Seriously, from my head to toe and I wonder how people survive without fan or air-cond with the current condition. Anyhow, I barely manage to pass through few days like this until yesterday night. It was like hell for me with my whole body began to perspire even after taking shower 3 times a day!!!

Lastly, I could not tolerate any longer with the heat affecting my studies by burning my brain cells. I Google up for pedestal fan around Alberton and found a shop selling them for AUD $19.98 (the cheapest) within walking distance. Decided to walk there next morning. Upon reaching there, I demand for the item from a sales girl but she said that it was sold out yesterday. My morale fall tremendously and I asked the store's catalogue. Found another fan which cost AUD $29.98 but it was out of stock too. Then, I demand for the cheapest fan or mini air conditioner and she showed me a AUD$39.95. I'm not going to waste my effort walking under 30++ degrees for 15 minutes and not purchasing anything.

And I gambled my way home because I lost the paper that used to point me the way to the shop.

Here it is

Within 5 minutes, it was assembled.

Moreover, the number of insects began to outnumber humans. Upon stepping out from my house, A few flies swarming around my face and it's really annoying. Of course, my bedroom too became nest for those creatures. Caught more than 5 insects for the past week. 3 spiders included and mind you, the spiders here are 3 times the size of spiders in Malaysia.

New food for the past week. Coles Marinated chicken+ bok choy + rice.

Alright, one more hour and I'll have to travel alone to Clarence Park for my new house's inspection. Hopefully everything is fine there.

Found it

Finally after so long, months or maybe years, found this really song.. Before that, I have no idea who the singer or the song title. How I found it? Came across a youtuber musican by the nick of watercolour. I'd rate him as one of the top 5 classical fingerstyle guitarist in Australia.

First Time

Just a short one....

Decided to study on DSM and BCB as both papers will be on 16th November. While I was rearranging my notes, I realize that I've attended ALL my tutorials for this subject. What an achievement and record for me. Because, I usually skipped at least 1 class while preparing for assignment. Of course, there are few driving force to achieve this record and I'm not telling it here. Feeling very proud of myself at the moment.

Chapter 24

Can you believe it? Exactly 1 more month I'll be leaving Adelaide to Melbourne and exactly 1 month and 3 days I'll be back in Malaysia. Time really flies I guess looking back the days when I first arrived here where everything were strangers to me. Okay, now most of the places are still unfamiliar because my routine rotates between 3 places; Alberton, Chinatown and UniSA-City West.

Again, I've been questioning myself whether I chose the right course.
What have I learned till now? I, myself cannot answer. What's more, this seems to be the toughest semester and I've skipped more classes compared to my previous semesters. So much to read, understand and absorb it into my brain, yet so little time.

Definitely must spend at least 4 hours in the library or computer lab next week!!! It's do or die situation for me.

Current song stuck in my head: Cha Tae Hyun - Because I Love You

Believe it or not, this post took me 2 hours.

Why?

In need of motivation and inspiration to study!!!! Arghhh, why are there so much distractions around me? What's wrong with me lately? Exam is around the corner and I'm still in my own la-la land. Anyone can teach me how to sit on the chair for at least 1 hour reading or memorizing lecture notes?

No wonder some people say studying = student + dying

Story Teller

The weather here is getting hot, marking 25 degrees. It's time for me take shower twice a day again. I had not felt this burning sensation for a long time.

Anyway, a friend of mine told me this story recently. Here goes, but I don't think I can remember the details very well...

A young lady was waiting to board her flight in the boarding room in a huge airport. As she needed to wait for a long time, she decided to buy a book to ease her boredom. She also bought a packet of cookies.

She sat down on an armchair in a VIP room of the airport, to rest and read. Beside the armchair where the packet of cookies lay, a man sat down next to her and began to read his magazine.

When she took one cookie, the man took one too. She felt irritated and she thought "What a nerve! If I was in the mood, I would punch him for daring!". For each cookie she took, the man took one too. This was infuriating her but she didn't want to cause a scene.

Finally, there is one cookie left and the lady thought "Ah...What will this abusive man do now?". The man takes the last cookie, divided it into half and giving her one of the half.

Her anger now was at boiling point till she took her belongings and stormed to the boarding place. Upon seating on her seat in her plane, the lady took out her handbag to look for her eyeglasses.

To her surprise, a packet of cookie lay there, untouched, unopened. She realize she was wrong and felt so ashamed of herself. She kept forgotten that she put her cookies in her handbag.

The man had divided her cookies with her without feeling angered or bitter. On the other hand, she had been very angry thinking that she was dividing her cookies with him. And now, there was no chance for her to apologize or explain to him...

How many times in our lives,
have we absolutely known
that something was a certain way,
only to discover later that
what we believed to be true ... was not?

Back

Sorry for my long absence for the past week. The internet connection was down as we overused it again. For the first time, the upload rather than the download usage were exceeded.

Nothing much happened for the past week except that I've done almost all of my assessments for this semester. There will be one though tomorrow, BCB (Buyer Consumer Behavior) Test.

Take a look at my table when assignments were on

Some food for the past week
Fish and Chips (Fish Fingers and Frozen Fries)

Egg + Lettuce + Chicken + Rice = Satisfying hunger

Once again, I'm the only male student for DSM (Derivatives and Securities Markets) class for the past consecutive 3 weeks. Feels a little alienated.

Exam will be in 20 days time. Hopefully, I'll pass this semester without any failures. Many people said I've got thinner. Is it true? Let me know if you see me face to face in Malaysia.

Found this interesting in soompi forum.

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH:
Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway-
but the Hershey Man will know!

YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH

It takes less than a minute . Work this out as you read .

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you
would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759 ..If you haven't, add 1758.

6.. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number.
The first digit of this was your original number.

(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are
YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK,
SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

Weird

The song of SNSD's - Into The New World echoes around the room silently. The sound came from my Sony Ericsson c902 phone. I picked it up and saw her name and her mobile phone number as well. I was surprised as I've never asked for her number before. The time shown at my mobile was was 7 in the morning and she does not wakes up this early. I picked it up and we chatted like we've known each other for ages. I asked her out before finally hanging up on the conversation.

As I was preparing for the date in the bathroom, I heard some noise in the hallway and decided to leave it unattended as it might come from one my housemate. Unexpectedly, a sharp object was thrust into my left ribs. Within a few seconds, I became unconscious. I opened my eyes and saw a familiar view of my current bedroom. I placed my hand to my left ribs and everything was fine, realizing it was just a dream....

5/10/2009

The mark of mid semester break officially ends for me on Wednesday 9.00a.m. with DSM test. Heck, I'm not even prepared or could say even started with anything yet. I told myself to type at least 400 words, study topic 1 to 4 for DSM test and complete BCB assignment but none of the above was achieved. Basically, I don't really know what I've been doing for the past week. Checked my UniSA email and found out that FP Peer Review and DSM assignment manage to get C. No surprises for me as I'm already expecting the result after competing both of them. However, the second batch of assignments will definitely give me a headache. Also, a small feeling fear for the final exam is deep within me now. Speaking of that, I'm having 2 papers on the same day!!!! How bad is that, not giving me a break. A race against time will commence on 16th, 23rd and 24th with them all ending at 9.30p.m. So, I have to catch the 11.13 train back home.

And, and, and I wanted to shop for 2 t-shirts but, but, but all I do is spend, spend, spend most of my time sleeping for the past days. Never mind, I shall shop when I'm back in Malaysia. Not only just shop but also eat all the way till I'm, fat before returning here again next year. Starting to practice my guitar and yesterday was the first time touching my guitar after coming back from Melbourne. Felt my fingers numbed and shall be concentrating on 3 pieces - Canon in D, Kiss the Rain and River Flows in You.

Not forget to mention I'm into SNSD now

Changed my desktop background too

Okay, I've got FP group meeting later at 1.00p.m. later in the university's library and I'm gonna cook my lunch now.

MoonCake Festival

I don't really remember much about how I used to celebrate the moon cake festival but I'll definitely remember this year's one. What's more, it's been ages since I last tasted moon cake because I don't fancy them until yesterday night out. I was invited by Suzanne Siah to Elder Park at 5.00pm with her friend. Little did I know, her friend were another 4 girls!!! They were all from University of Adelaide I guess and thus, my network of friends grew larger. Another that surprises me is that an architecture student needs to study for 6 years having and no final exams!!! Imagine studying applied finance for 6 years (12 semesters) and now I'm already struggling in my 4th semester.

Kids performance

The day began to dark

Huge panda lantern

The event ended with fireworks performance

Quite beautiful

Thanks to Suzanne's friend for this moon cake that was shared between 6 people (Sorry I'm bad in remembering names in first time meeting)

Gather round to eat the moon cake

Leaving Elder's Park

Okay, I've been out everyday since coming back from Melbourne because it seems that I can't sit in the house the whole day!!!

Bored

Sitting in front of my laptop feeling a little bored here. Life these days had been just like a ferris wheel. It just rotates from sleeping to cooking to eating to watching drama.

Anyway, I just came back from Melbourne last week with a heavy unexpected cost fall upon me and my friends.

The journey started off with a little complications about the car and to cut the story short, we had no choice but to rent 2 cars. Starting the journey with smiles upon everyone's face, we came across Princess Highway along the coastal road. There is one area where it feels like we are driving in the safari as seen on the national geographic channel.

PS: Pics taken from facebook
Our first stop
2 Cars

Tulip Garden under Mount Dandenong

Quite nice place

Had the famous fish and chips - waiting for 30 minutes to get a table

Next day, journey throughout the Great Ocean Road. Along the way, our luck went down the drain with getting fine by traffic police for speeding. I thought we will be given a warning as this is the first time getting fined but the man took out his pen and began to jot down on a piece of paper the car details while questioning us. Then, the piece of paper was handed to us and a shocking amount of AUD $234 was on it.

The first stop on the way to visit the Tweleve Apostles

Me and part of the 12

Nice scenery coming back

Next day, we had the best dinner specially thanks to Adam. The Thai food was amazing and mouth watering and he even brought us to Silicka beach to watch little penguins

And I bought shades

Coming back home, I realize my room door was locked...so Y-Han had to kicked it open and the result;

There are more pictures but is not uploaded yet...

Have not been exercising lately causing me to be more lazy...gotta flex my muscles tomorrow morning!! Looks like winter is coming back with strong winds blowing with the temperature stays between 15 to 9 degrees.

Wanted to revise what I've learned throughout the 8 weeks of semester but the spirit of studying is not flaring up yet.

Happy 20th Birthday

Pic stole from facebook

Again, wishing another housemate, Pretib happy belated 20th birthday (his birthday was on 25th September). Just by looking at him, I would never guessed that he is one of the top student in Taylors University College until I saw his resume . With his lame speeches about relationships, girls or anything to do with that, he definitely will put a smile on any girl's face. Life in Adelaide would be really plain if I had not met you. Really thanks for everything (although you always say "thanks" for every little things).

Happy 21st =)

Wishing my housemate, Kah Leong happy belated 21st (his birthday was yesterday). I was too tired to type this post yesterday and had to sleep early for the next day class at 9.00 a.m.

I still could remember how we met at Food Court Plaza in Adelaide's Chinatown. The first impression he gave me was like a type of player with looks but little did I know, he is one a great friend to have and backs his friends up. A reliable guy who always supports his friend anytime and anywhere. And yes, If we had not met each other, God knows where I'm sleeping for the past months . Although you always say down down and down, I don't see any 21 shots down yesterday. Anyway, Melbourne here we go!!
PS; Girls, he's not single anymore.

Exactly 6 more days marks the mid semester break. Time passes really quick and even I'm already in the middle of this semester, I couldn't really understand everything that was taught.

- Promise to write more in the next post -
